Attendance tracking system is a mechanical or electronic timepiece used to keep track of the total hours that employees have worked.
It is necessary to have a tracking system because attendance at the place of work is vital in every organizational setup, be it an employer, an office, school, market place, and even at events. An employer cannot but ensure that work time is not being wasted, especially since they are paying for it.
It has been shown that companies without an automated time and attendance solution overpay employees by 1.5% to 10% of gross payroll due to time theft and error-driven calculations. Depending on company size and workforce, the cost incurred is in billions of Naira each year.
Therefore, it is imperative for a business owner or manager to place a premium on an efficient attendance tracking system as it will significantly improve the business in terms of productivity and profit.
Automated attendance tracking system helps organizations with real time reporting/ statistical analytical features which enable on-the-spot decision making capabilities to easily convert data into actionable, valuable information instead of just reacting to them.
Furthermore, automated attendance tracking will help to avoid the hassle of auditing paper-based employee time cards and reduce costly manual payroll & data entry errors. It also minimizes payroll processing time as well as reduce the time required to schedule employees.
At TAMS we understand the importance of simplified and automated Time and Attendance software. As the pioneers of web-based computerized clock-in systems, our Time Attendance Management System is used by some of the country’s leading organizations across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, transport, retail, health and service centers.

These grains contain beta-glucan, a type of fiber with antimicrobial and antioxidant capabilities more potent than echinacea, reports a Norwegian study. When animals eat this compound, they’re less likely to contract influenza, herpes, even anthrax; in humans, it boosts immunity, speeds wound healing, and may help antibiotics work better.
This potent onion relative contains the active ingredient allicin, which fights infection and bacteria. British researchers gave 146 people either a placebo or a garlic extract for 12 weeks; the garlic takers were two-thirds less likely to catch a cold. Other studies suggest that garlic lovers who chow more than six cloves a week have a 30% lower rate of colorectal cancer and a 50% lower rate of stomach cancer.
Whether it is called employee appraisal, performance appraisal, performance review or performance evaluation, an appraisal system is a method by which the job performance of an employee is documented and evaluated.
In all ramifications, performance appraisal is neither a witch-hunt nor a punitive measure against employees.
Essentially, it provides relevant information for an objective assessment of employees’ skills, abilities, knowledge and overall job performance for the purpose of bringing about constructive evaluation.
The goal of an appraisal system is not only to improve performance but also to make decisions about those skills that employees should develop in order to enhance their career ambitions.
While putting employees’ potential for future roles in context, managers or supervisors are armed with critical information that enables objectivity of reward systems.
Furthermore, appraisal systems provide a framework for evaluating the effectiveness of human resource programmes in the organization while helping to improve organizational communication.
Employee appraisal systems help managers evaluate employee job performance and develop a fair system of pay increases and promotions. Appraisals in turn can help staff members improve performance, and assist companies in devising or reorganizing job functions to better fit the position or the employee.

Don’t leave keys “hidden” outside the home. Leave an extra key with a trusted neighbor or colleague.
Keep doors locked even when you or family members are at home.
Have window locks installed on all windows. Use them.
Lock louvered windows–especially on the ground floor.
Have locks installed on your fuse boxes and external power sources.
If you have window grilles and bars, review fire safety. Don’t block bedroom windows with permanent grilles if the windows may be used for emergency egress.
If you have burglar or intrusion alarms, check and use them.
Keep at least one fire extinguisher on each floor, and be sure to keep one in the kitchen. Show family members and household help how to use them.
Periodically check smoke detectors and replace batteries when necessary.
Keep flashlights in several areas in the house. Check the batteries often, especially if you have children in your home. (They love to play with flashlights!)
A family dog can be a deterrent to criminals. But remember, even the best watch-dog can be controlled by food or poison. Do not install separate “doggy doors” or entrances. They also can admit small intruders.
Choose a location that offers the most security. The less remote, the safer your home will be, particularly in a neighborhood close to police and fire protection.
Know your neighbors. Develop a rapport with them and offer to keep an eye on each other’s homes, especially during trips.
If you observe any unusual activity, report it immediately to your RSO.
Establish safe family living patterns. If you understand the importance of your contribution to the family’s overall security, the entire household will be safer.
While at home, you and your family should rehearse safety drills and be aware of procedures to escape danger and get help.
Educate family members and domestic help in the proper way to answer the telephone at home.
Vary daily routines; avoid predictable patterns.
Know where all family members are at all times.
Use these same guidelines while on leave or in travel status.
