06 Feb Keyboard shortcuts Everyone should know

keyboard-shortcut

Using keyboard shortcuts can greatly increase your productivity, reduce repetitive strain, and help keep you focused. For example, to copy text, you can highlight text and press the Ctrl + C shortcut. The shortcut is faster than moving your hands from the keyboard, highlighting with the mouse, choosing copy from the file menu, and then returning to the keyboard. Memorize & use the following shortcuts:-

1.Ctrl + C or Ctrl + Insert and Ctrl + X

Both Ctrl + C and Ctrl + Insert will copy highlighted text or a selected item. If you want to cut an item instead of copying it, press Ctrl + X. This action removes the text or item and stores it in the clipboard for you, rather than just copying it to the clipboard while leaving the original behind.

Apple computer users can substitute the Ctrl key for the command (cmd) key on their computers. For example, pressing Cmd + C copies highlighted text.

2.Ctrl + V or Shift + Insert

Both the Ctrl + V and Shift + Insert will paste the text or object that’s stored in the clipboard.

On Apple computers, use Cmd + V instead.

3.Ctrl + Z and Ctrl + Y

Pressing Ctrl + Z will undo any change. For example, if you cut text, pressing this key combination will undo the cut. These shortcuts can also be pressed multiple times to undo or redo multiple changes. Pressing Ctrl + Y would redo the undo.

On Apple computers, use Cmd + Z and Cmd + Y to undo and redo.

Cut text and then undo

Use the above text input field to highlight some or all of the text and then press Ctrl + X to cut the text. Once the text has disappeared press the Ctrl + Z to undo the cut.

Tip: If you did the first example as well (cut and paste text) if you continue to press Ctrl + Z it is also going to undo that change.

4.Ctrl + Z and Ctrl + Y

02 Feb Boosting Productivity with Employee Accountability

employee_productivity
Employee Accountability is the responsibility of employees to complete the tasks they are assigned, to perform the duties required by their job, and to be present for their proper shifts in order to fulfill or further the goals of the organization.

Employee Accountability at the workplace is important to a business success as a whole. Every employee, no matter what level of seniority is equally responsible for aiding in the success of the company. In order to achieve both the long and short term goals of the company, it is important that all people within the company work together and share accountability. Employees who work together towards the same overall goal help their workplace to become more accountable, in turn make the business more productive and efficient.

To get proper employee accountability, employers need to draw up reward mechanisms to motivate a performing staff, as a motivated staff gives his all to get things done and also gear other staff up to surpass the previous rewarded employee which bring about healthy competition amongst member staff.

As quoted by F. Robert Salerno, CEO Avis: “Early in my career, one of the first business lessons I learned was this: It’s impossible to win the hearts and minds of people unless you clearly establish goals and values and reward people if they act in a way that leads to the fulfillment of those objectives. It quickly became clear to me that if you want to make sure your customers are treated well, you have to make sure you treat your employees well and recognize their efforts.”

A motivated staff is a loyal staff and a motivated staff will ensure that he is timely, will complete designated task to time, will be consistent to complete task excellently, will surpass designated task, due to healthy competition as the employees build cordial relationship to achieve same goals.

31 Jan ORAL HEALTH TIPS

oral health

      Oral Health

  • One of the easiest steps to do to help your teeth keep clean is to Brush Properly. Try to brush at least twice a day or thoroughly rinse your mouth with water after eating to minimize the amount of food that would serve as substrate for the bacteria.
  • Flossing can help you remove food particles and other detrimental substances that brushing regularly cannot. Dentists recommend flossing at least once a day.
  • Avoid Tobacco. It will save you from oral cancer and periodontal complications and also save you from the countless ill effects caused by the agents used to mask the smell of tobacco.
  • Limit Sodas, Coffee and Alcohol. They cause dental hygiene problems such as tooth decay and gum disease.
  • Consume calcium and other vitamins that are good for the body. You need plenty of calcium for your teeth. It is essential for the teeth as well as your bones.
  • You should visit your dentist at least twice a year to have a full hygiene treatment performed.
  • Use mouthwash alongside brushing and flossing. It can help maintain good breath as well as help maintain strong teeth.
  • If you are having tooth and jaw pain make an appointment as soon as possible. Your dentist needs to diagnose the underlying cause and correct it before it turns into a greater problem.
  • Clean the surface of your tongue daily to remove countless bacteria that otherwise live on the rougher part of your tongue.
